Athena Miller and Nicholas James were in the Gooding courtroom yesterday for the arraignment on Murder charges. The two are allegedly connected to the death of 58 year old Roger Driesel whose body was found in a Gooding shop last year. Miller allegedly asked James to kill Driesel who was her boyfriend at the time. It’s been determined the two will have separate trials.
A 16 mile stretch of road between Mountain Home and Fairfield is closed this morning due to poor weather conditions. Yesterday the Camas county courthouse in Fairfield closed early because of the weather.
The Idaho state police are continuing their investigation into a head on crash that involved a Fish and Game officer. The accident that happened Saturday along I-84 just west of Mountain Home occurred around 6:30 pm. Authorities say an eastbound car crossed the median and collided with a pickup pulling a boat driven by the conservation officer. The Officer wasn’t injured but the car’s driver was sent to the hospital for treatment.

Acting Deputy Secretary of the Interior Laura Daniel-Davis was at the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise yesterday where she announced a $138 million allocation from President Biden's Investing in America agenda to help combat wildfires across the country. The department is investing $1.5 billion over the next 5 years into wildland firefighting.
An influential and controversial conservative Idaho lobbying group announced Monday that it has parted ways with its longtime president, replacing him with a former state representative known for his far-right policies. The Idaho Freedom Foundation said that Ron Nate, who served several legislative terms between 2014 and 2022 as a Republican from Rexburg, would replace organization co-founder Wayne Hoffman as president.
