Fourth Judicial District Judge Jason Scott on Friday only partially granted a motion from the Idaho Attorney General’s Office to dismiss an abortion lawsuit. The Attorney General asked the court to dismiss the lawsuit arguing that it is the policy of Idaho to allow no exception for an abortion in situations where the physician believes that the fetus is unlikely to survive after birth.
A 78 year old woman died Sunday night just before midnight when the car she was driving
collided with another car in the intersection of Highway of 20 and 26 on the county line of Ada and Canyon County. Then just before 1 yesterday morning a 21 year old man from Dietrich died from injuries he received when he lost control of his vehicle. It happened on state highway 24 in Lincoln County.
A prosecutor appointed by Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador said there is probable cause that a former Idaho Department of Health and Welfare employee who led a scrutinized child care grant program committed a crime, court filings show. The allegation came with little other information such as what crime the ex-state official, Ericka Rupp, is accused of, official charges she could face or what specific evidence backs up the claim.
An Idaho inmate, already serving time for violent offenses, has been charged with a murder
from a 2011 Alaska cold case. 36 year old Keenon Leland Keyes was arraigned with the potential of facing up to 99 years for each murder count. The case was reopened in 2022 by the Alaska State Troopers Cold Case Investigation Unit.
The Caldwell Police Department is investigating a robbery that happened early Saturday morning on Dec. 30 around 10. One man was taken to the hospital with "minor injuries." Police said the jewelry store in the 400 block of Kimball Avenue was "robbed by force."
Boise resident Lora-Lee Casady spent New Year's in New York City for a VIP trip where she had a chance to become the first millionaire of 2024. Casady was one of nearly 70 thousand Idaho entrants who entered the contest. The lucky Idaho Powerball player was one of 5 nationwide finalists participating in the New Year's event. Pamela Bradshaw from Clinton North Carolina took home the million-dollar prize.
