Idaho has joined 32 other states in a lawsuit against Meta of designing Facebook and Instagram to intentionally addict children and teens. The states say that Meta knew its platforms psychologically harmed youth but hid those harms to fuel youths’ social media addiction.

Idahoans can now enroll in health and dental insurance through Idaho’s health care exchange, Your Health Idaho, for policies in 2024. Enrollment will stay open until midnight Dec. 15.

Idahoans can find out within minutes how much their tax credits would be, which could cover some or all of their monthly health insurance premiums.

At a hearing, dozens of Idaho Power customers and climate advocates laid out concerns about a proposal that would change the way the company credits solar customers. In May, Idaho Power submitted a proposal to decrease the amount it credits customers who sell their rooftop solar power back to the grid. Homeowners, who installed solar panels after December 2019, would be impacted by the changes if it is approved.

Idaho Secretary of State Phil McGrane is reminding eligible Idahoans who want to vote via mail to request their absentee ballot before the Oct. 27 deadline, according to a press release from the Secretary of State’s office. Election Day for 43 out of 44 Idaho counties is Nov. 7. Early voting is open now until Nov. 3. Absentee ballots are due to local county election offices by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

After extensive work with local partners, the Bureau of Land Management finalized a decision to create a comprehensive system of existing motorized routes through Owyhee County. The Canyonlands East Travel Management Plan allows the public access while also supporting working rangelands.

On Oct. 19, Idaho Fish and Game conservation officers received a report of two wasted mule deer off of Crows Nest Road, near Hagerman. The wasted deer were found within Game Management Unit 46 in Twin Falls County.

Governor Brad Little has signed the extradition for Lori Vallow Daybell. She will be taken to Arizona to face charges related to the murder of her former husband Charles Vallow and attempted murder of her former nephew in law Brandon Boudreaux. Arizona will be responsible for all the bills.
