Idaho’s congressional delegation in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday introduced a bill to stop the development of the lava ridge wind project in southern Idaho. U.S. Sens. Jim Risch and Mike Crapo and Reps. Mike Simpson and Russ Fulcher, all Idaho Republicans, introduced the “Don’t DO IT Act,” by its sponsors; it would require the U.S. Secretary of the Interior to deny any wind or solar energy project proposed on public land that is disapproved of by the State Legislature.
Idaho drivers will have a little less to be frightened about when they stop to fill up before trick-or-treating this week. According to AAA, the Gem State’s average price for regular is $3.89 per gallon, which is about a nickel less than a week ago, 25 cents less than a month ago, and 45 cents less than a year ago.
Following a trend with many post-secondary schools, Boise State University saw an overall increase in student enrollment this fall. Though some demographics saw a decrease, the majority of classes and degree pursuits saw positive numbers for the school. The overall fall enrollment increased by 565 students for a total of 26, 727.
Most of the park entrances and roads in Yellowstone National Park will be closed to the public and normal vehicle travel for the winter beginning Nov. 1. Yellowstone’s East, South and West entrances and almost all of the park’s roads will close for the winter season Each year, park officials close three main entrances and most public roads for the harsh winter that descends on the park.
Beginning Friday RIDE TFT will begin offering extended hours until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights. All rides requested or scheduled for pickup after 9 p.m. will have a $10 fare instead of the standard $3. RIDE TFT is also offering Airport Service, which will provide service to and from the Magic Valley Regional Airport. Rides to and from the Magic Valley Regional Airport will also have a $10 fare.
