Yesterday in court, the attorney for Idaho murder suspect Chad Daybell asked that the possibility of the death penalty be removed from his case. Daybell faces charges of murder of his first wife Tammy and the children of his current wife Lori. A motion hearing will be held on November 29th.


19 year old Logan Penner will spend at least 15 years in prison after being sentenced to 35 years. Penner plead guilty to the death of an infant child. Penner was set to go to trial on a first-degree murder charge, but instead took a plea deal with the prosecutor’s office. Last November, Twin Falls Police responded to the Valley House Homeless Shelter for a report of a two-month-old boy not breathing, with blood coming out of his nose. Records say Penner shook two-month old Peyton Rice and threw him into his crib.


Police say a 19 year old from Filer was injured when he failed to yield to traffic as he pulled onto U.S. 30 last night. He was struck by a 24 year old female from Buhl. Traffic on highway 30 was shut down in the area for about 2 hours.


A U.S. District Court has decided to temporarily block enforcement of Idaho’s “abortion trafficking” law, which took effect in May after Idaho legislators voted on its passage during the 2023 legislative session. If enforced, those convicted of “abortion trafficking” would face a penalty between two to five years in prison.


Idaho state lawmakers on the Legislature’s powerful budget committee are mulling how they’ll respond to an audit that found flaws in how the state health department distributed $72 million in federal grant funds. The Legislature’s budget committee, the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee, is meeting for three days this week to review budget requests by state agencies and prepare for the 2024 legislative session.


Some tense moments yesterday in Boise as a non-student boarded a school bus near downtown who the bus driver described as possibly being under the influence. When authorities boarded the bus they found the individual had a gun in their backpack. No students were harmed and the suspect was taken into custody.
