Just before 8 last night gunfire erupted in the Target Parking lot on Blue Lakes north in Twin Falls. Police say they were responding to the report of a fight involving a large group of people when the incident occurred. One adult male was taken to the hospital with what is being described as non-life threatening injuries. Latest reports indicate there is no one in custody but police are looking for a heavy set black male.

Yesterday, the man accused of murdering Jerome resident Bill Eakin was in court. Kevin Kuintzle declined to waive time for his preliminary hearing. That came as a surprise to his defense Attorney. Kuintzle is charged with shooting Eakin in the head while sleeping inside his home on Bob Barton Road in September. He faces five felonies. That includes murder, 2 counts of destruction of evidence grand theft and burglary.

About 13,000 Idahoans removed from Medicaid for not replying to the state’s request for information after pandemic-era protections lapsed have gotten back on the program. Idaho health officials in August finished reviewing the eligibility of 153,000 people they flagged as likely ineligible for Medicaid, either for not replying for information or because they were not eligible.

Micron Technology is set to redefine computer chip production with its expansion project in Boise. The centerpiece of this project is a 600,000-square-foot semiconductor cleanroom. It’s a structure equivalent in size to 10 football fields. Spanning across 340 acres of land, and will cost $15 billion. The expansion doubles the size of the existing Boise campus.

A second candidate has filed to be in Idaho's March 2024 Republican Presidential Caucus. Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis has filed his paperwork to be in Idaho's Republican Presidential Caucus. DeSantis paid his $50,000 filing fee.

At the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Dave Jeppesen will retire at the end of this year after five years as DHW director. Governor Little selected Idaho Department of Insurance Director Dean Cameron to serve as interim director.
