The Fremont County district judge overseeing Chad Daybell's case ruled Friday the trial will remain in Ada County. Daybell is charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy in the deaths of Lori Vallow Daybell's two children, JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan, and his late wife, Tammy Daybell. The state attorney's motion argued that due to the extensive media coverage that took place during his wife's trial, Lori Vallow Daybell, jurors have the potential to be biased.
72 year old Penny Kay Clark who had been missing since Dec. 5 was found in a rural area of Canyon County on Saturday, just before noon. Authorities received a call from two men who found a car near Map Rock Rd and Rim Rd near Melba. The woman's car had fallen down a canyon wall and she was found by responders 40 feet below in a ravine. Emergency rescuers found her alert and conscious. She was taken by air ambulance for treatment.
Wildlife conservation groups on Nov. 29 filed a legal petition asking the U.S. Forest Service to prohibit aerial gunning of wildlife in national forests in Idaho. But leaders on the Idaho Wolf Depredation Control Board disagree. The Idaho Wolf Depredation Control Board was established in 2014 to manage funds for wolf depredation control in Idaho.
An officer with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game reported a dead juvenile swan on Nov. 9 at the 7-mile Slough Access near Emmett. Swans are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and there is no swan hunting season in the Southwest Region of Idaho. Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call the Idaho Fish and Game.
There were a couple of fatal accidents in Idaho over the weekend. Just before 5 police say a 18 year old male from St. Anthony lost control of the vehicle he was driving on U.S. 20 in Jefferson County. He crossed over the median and collided with another vehicle. He died at the scene. Another accident just after 7 last night claimed the life of a 46 year old female from Caldwell. She was walking along a road when she was struck by a car driven by a 19 year old male.
