A 42 year old woman is facing charges for a stabbing that occurred Tuesday afternoon.  Brandalyn Michelle Maglaughlin was taken into custody after a gun was discharged and a 68 year old man was taken to the hospital after being stabbed.  The woman was scheduled for arraignment yesterday afternoon but due to mental instability and refusing to cooperate with jail staff that was postponed and a competency evaluation was requested. 


A federal judge in Idaho has prevented the state’s ban on some gender-affirming treatments for transgender children from taking effect Jan. 1.  U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill issued a preliminary injunction, six days before the controversial law’s scheduled start date.  Winmill ruled that the plaintiff’s two Idaho transgender minors likely will prevail in their lawsuit under the 14th Amendment’s equal protection.


A violent clash unfolded at Idaho's maximum-security prison near Boise earlier this week, marking the latest in a series of disturbing incidents at the facility.  Officials say the recent brawl is symptomatic of a larger, more complex issue plaguing the U.S. correctional system. Prisons are struggling with overcrowding, underfunding are often scenes of violence and unrest.


A judge has agreed to seal a motion to dismiss the proceedings against a man charged with killing four college students in Idaho.  This follows last week's move by the judge to deny a defense request to throw out the charges against Bryan Kohberger.  The prosecution has proposed going to trial next summer.


There are only a few days to register for the Idaho Republican presidential caucus that is set for March 2nd.  Idaho Republican Party Chairwoman Dorothy Moon said you must be a registered voter with the Idaho GOP by December 31 to be able to be a part of the caucus. They will not have absentee ballots for the caucus.


A former Twin Falls youth pastor pleaded guilty to sexual battery of a minor Tuesday in a case in which he was indicted by a grand jury.  31 year old Dakota Austin Kennemer worked at Grace Baptist Church in Twin Falls  He could spend several years in prison when he is sentenced in March.
