The family of Milo Warnock wants answers after he was beaten to death by another inmate at an Idaho prison in December. Idaho State Police said that their investigation was wrapping up and would be forwarded to the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office “shortly” for review.

The Idaho Senate yesterday narrowly defeated the latest bill targeting “materials harmful to minors” in libraries.

Idaho Republican Party Chairwoman Dorothy Moon was within her rights to nullify a Bingham County election last year, a judge has ruled. District Court Judge Darren Simpson ruled in favor of the Idaho Republican Party in a lawsuit brought by the Bingham County Republican Central Committee, claiming Moon inappropriately used her power to negate an internal election.

If a new bill introduced Wednesday in the Idaho Legislature becomes law, cities, counties and other local units of government would be prohibited from regulating knives.  Rep. Jordan Redman sponsored the new bill, saying knives are a form of arms that are protected by the Second Amendment.

Idaho lawmakers unanimously passed a bill that would legalize fentanyl testing strips and exempt them under the state’s drug paraphernalia law.  Idaho is one of a few states across the nation where it is a misdemeanor crime to have the test strips in your possession.  It moves on to the senate.

Jury selection began this week in a murder case that is almost 20 years old.  Bradley Scott Compher is facing first-degree murder charges in the stabbing death of 25-year-old Nori Jones, of Pocatello, in 2004. Jones was murdered in her home on Pole Line Road in Pocatello. The case was cold for 10 years until DNA evidence linked Compher to the killing.

A new report shows Idaho has lost 22% of its OBGYNs since Roe v. Wade was overturned in 2022 – that's more than 1 in 5.

Idahoans are leading the states when it comes to throwing in the towel. From December 2022 to December 2023, Idaho’s workers quit their jobs 48.9% less.
