As we come on the air this morning fire crews from Jerome Rural, city and Wendell are on scene of a home that is fully involved.  The call for help came in around 4:30 in the area of 300 North and 239 West in Jerome. 


Authorities continue to search for two suspects following a shooting at Saint Alphonsus shortly after 2 am yesterday.  31 year old Skyler Meade is an escapee from the State prison.  The other person is 28 year old Nicholas Umphenour.  The two could be traveling in a grey Honda Civic with Twin Falls license plates.  They should be considered armed, dangerous and a threat to law enforcement and the public.  Call 911 with any tips on their whereabouts.


Skyler Meade was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2017 for firing shots at a Twin Falls Deputy during a high speed chase.  He lost control of his vehicle and crashed.


Governor Brad Little signed into law this week to support the fight against invasive quagga mussels in Idaho waterway.  It adds $6.6 million to increase the ongoing prevention and monitoring.  Last year the Snake River near Twin Falls was closed to the public following the discovery of the invasive species.


The College of Southern Idaho say they are seeing significant enrollment growth for the spring 2024 semester. Headcount has grown 12.1% when compared to spring 2023. This is a year-over-year increase of 11.9%.


Idaho lawmakers drew a hardline yesterday.  A vote to end the needle exchange program is now on Governor Little’s desk. Supporters of the repeal said they aren’t convinced the program really helps.


A bill to criminalize advertising illegal services or products like marijuana in Idaho failed to pass the Idaho Senate yesterday.  Marijuana is illegal in Idaho and in federal law. But states surrounding Idaho have legalized marijuana for recreational use in recent years.
