Another person has been charged with helping Skylar Meade escape from the state prison in Boise.  Tia Garcia was in custody at the Twin Falls county jail on a probation violation but authorities allege the she had knowledge and was involved in the planning and execution of the escape.  She is to alleged to have aided Nicholas Umphenour by picking him up at the Boise airport and giving him her car to use in the escape plan.  She later reported her car stolen.


After national outcry following the report of a racist harassment incident in North Idaho, several Idaho senators questioned the need for a resolution denouncing racism. In the end, the Idaho Senate adopted the resolution on a 33-1 vote. It’s in response to an incident in Coeur d’Alene where people yelled racial slurs at a group of University of Utah’s women’s basketball players.


Members of a divided Idaho Senate on Thursday killed a major transportation budget, dashing any dwindling hopes of wrapping up the 2024 legislative session today. One of the major sticking points in the transportation budget was language revoking the state’s authority to sell the ITD’s former headquarters in Boise.


The Idaho State Department of Agriculture says the first case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in Idaho livestock has been reported.  The disease, also known as the bird flu, was found in cows at a Cassia County dairy. Officials said the dairy imported cattle from another state which had confirmed cases of the illness.


A judge in the trial of Chad Daybell has issued a gag order until after opening statements are made. Court documents say the silence order comes after counsel for the defense interviewed a reporter that was later broadcast.


A mountain lion may have been spotted in Twin Falls.  It’s been spotted several times over the past week.  The last report was around 7 yesterday morning near Cascade Park off Stadium Boulevard.


 Idaho Gov. Brad Little signed a bill into law, which would prohibit transgender adults and minors enrolled in Medicaid or those enrolled in the state’s insurance from receiving gender-affirming medications or procedures.
