Jury deliberations began yesterday in the triple murder trial of Chad Daybell, a case Idaho prosecutors claim was fueled by power, sex, money and apocalyptic spiritual beliefs.

The two teams of the Idaho State Police have returned from Texas.  They were deployed in April to support the state with the U.S. Mexico border crisis with a focus on human trafficking.

If you are fishing in Idaho waters and catch one with an orange tag, the Idaho fish and game are asking you report it.  The department said the tags help collect data including counts and growth rates.  It also shows migration patterns.



The Bureau of Land Management is preparing its crews for Idaho's wildfire season. As the weather warms up and the summer heat starts to dry things out, wildfires will become more common in the state. Tuesday's stormy weather sparked two lightning-caused fires near Mountain Home, causing BLM crews to respond.



Nearly every state in America is predicted to have a hotter-than-normal summer, according to the latest three-month outlook from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Idaho has a 50% to 60% chance of above-average heat.



On Tuesday, Mountain Home Police found a deceased male in one of the rooms of the Thunderbird motel.  Authorities say it appears to be a homicide.  They are searching for 58 year old Brian McGehee who may be headed to the Seattle area. 



Jerome police are warning residents of an increase in auto thefts, specifically Hyundai and Kia models.  The increase is believed to be tied to a TicTok video named the Kia challenge which shows how to hijack a car with a USB cord.



The Shoshone-paiute tribe, Idaho’s only Indigenous tribe without a casino of its own is asking the national and state governments to give a proposal for a casino the thumbs down. This would be the Shoshone-Bannock tribe’s fourth casino but first located off the tribe’s reservation in Fort Hall.  The Sho-Pai tribe is concerned the proposal would mean continued poverty for them.
