Authorities say they have arrested 10 people involved in a large-scale drug operation in Magic Valley.  30 pounds of meth was seized by the task force made up of Federal, State and local police.  7 people from Jerome, 2 from Twin Falls and 1 from Shoshone face distribution charges.  The investigation also included nine other defendants.  All involved face 20 years to life in prison. 

The body of a missing man in Twin Falls was found yesterday afternoon.  Searchers recovered the body of missing 22-year-old Marvin Orellana Orozco.  He was found six miles downstream from where his pickup was found submerged in the Low Line Canal at Eastland Drive South.

An out-of-control SUV crashed into the Jerome Eye center yesterday morning.  No reports of any serious injury.  The front of the building suffered extensive damage as crews began work to make repairs. 

An Ada County judge heard arguments yesterday whether to end a lawsuit aimed at clarifying Idaho’s abortion ban. Idaho has a total ban on abortions, with exceptions for rape and incest in the first trimester with a police report.

Under a bill advancing in Congress, Idaho could receive a third federal district judge. U.S. Rep Mike Simpson of Idaho has co-sponsored the bill.  Congress approved Idaho’s second federal district judgeship in 1954, when Idaho’s population was around 600,000 people.

The preliminary hearing for 43-year-old Karl Studer of Rupert who is charged with five felony and 15 misdemeanor wildlife crimes has been postponed. Studer allegedly was the leader in a black-market conspiracy to illegally take trophy animals, using tags obtained through the Fish and Game’s Landowner Appreciation Program.

Bryan Kohberger is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Ada County this afternoon.  Kohberger has a status conference on 2 p.m. It’s Kohberger's first court appearance since being transferred to Ada County from Latah County, where 4 U of I students murders occurred, on Sept. 15.

SPORTS

The College of Southern Idaho Men's Rodeo Team took sixth in the Colorado Northwestern CC Rodeo Friday and Saturday, while the Golden Eagle Women did not score.  Overall, CSI is in sixth place in the Rocky Mountain Region Standings through three rodeos. The women are in third.  CSI next travels to Utah State University Friday and Saturday.

Declo High School announced on Tuesday that Brad Caresia is the newest head coach to take over the successful girls’ basketball program.  He steps in for Cody Powers after his two seasons with the Hornets.  Caresia comes to Declo after two seasons being the head coach for the Burley Bobcats boys’ basketball team with an 8-36 record.

From the scoreboard locally yesterday first for boys’ soccer, Filer defeated Bliss 3 to 2.  Gooding for the win over Kimberly 2 to 1.  It was Wendell 10 Declo 0.  For the Girls Kimberly outlasted Gooding 8 to 0.  Wendell defeated Declo 5 to 1. 

On today’s schedule, for boys’ soccer, Twin Falls travels to Burley, Mountain Home goes to Jerome, Minico to Wood River.  For the girls, Wood River travels to Minico, Jerome to Mountain Home, Burley to Twin Falls and Canyon Ridge is on the road to play Rigby.

In Scheduled volleyball games today, Watersprings and Glenns Ferry all travel to Hansen, Raft River and Valley meet up in Butte County.  Shoshone goes to Wendell.  Mountain home goes to Twin Falls, Minico to Wood River, Declo to Aberdeen, Twin Falls Christian Academy to Castleford and Richfield to Hagerman.
