Mens college basketball from Saturday northwest Nazarene defeated Douglas College 90 to 45. College of Idaho defeated Eastern Oregon 64 to 57. It was Montana outlasting the Idaho State Bengals 76 to 58. Portland state defeated the Idaho Vandals 77 to 72. On Friday, Boise State downed Utah Valley 85 to 63.
For the ladies college basketball games Montana defeated Idaho State 66 to 55 on Sunday. Saturday the Idaho vandals outlasted Portland State 61 to 55. Wyoming defeated Boise State 51 to 47. On Friday Montana State took the win over Idaho State 58 to 56.
Boise State opened Mountain West play with a 61-47 loss to Wyoming, Saturday afternoon. The Broncos will continue with MW action on Jan. 3 when they host Nevada for a 6:30 p.m. MT tip at ExtraMile Arena.
A pair of Broncos surpassed the 1,000 career points threshold in a 85-63 win over Utah Valley. The win is the 21st-consecutive home win for Boise State which ties Oral Roberts for the longest active streak nationally. Boise State opens Mountain West play on Jan. 5 at San Jose State.
The Idaho State Bengals fell to 0-2 on the Big Sky Conference season as the Orange and Black fell to the Lazy Griz of Montana 66-55 in Missoula Saturday afternoon. It's time for the 2024 Big Sky / Summit League Challenge. The Bengals will first be at home in Reed Gym Wednesday. at 7:00 PM taking on the North Dakota Fighting Hawks. The Orange and Black then head east to take on the South Dakota Coyotes on Saturday, Jan. 6
The end of June brings the Idaho bowl for the best 6th 7th and 8th graders. The top middle school football players in the state will compete amongst the best athletes in the state.
The Canyon Ridge boys basketball team fell to the Snake River Panthers 78-57 in the Eastern Idaho Holiday Championship at Skyline High School. Other scores from the weekend include Filer outlasting Century 77 to 49. Columbia 60 Gooding 46. It was Carey 53 over Adrian Oregon 53 to 41. Canyon Ridge outlasted Bonneville 59 to 41. Filer for the win over Idaho Falls 64 to 52 and Murtaugh for the win over Sho-Ban 61 to 32.
For the girls, Declo defeated Ambrose 49 to 34. Gooding took the win overe Ambrose 49 to 34. It was Gooding 46 Nampa Christian 45. Weiser for the win over Kimberly 51 to 34 and Capital defeated Minico 63 to 49. Rocky Mountain for the win over Burley 58 to 20 and Minico defeated Meridian 53 to 43. Twin Falls defeated Capital 49 to 40. Kimberly outlasted Parma 53 to 43. Miurtaugh defeated Sho-Ban 59 to 21. Gooding 39 over Ontario 39 to 18. Mountain View defeated Burley 57 to 26 and it was Borah 54 over Twin Falls 47.
On the schedule for the boys Century travels to Burley, Mackay goes to Carey, Canyon Ridge travels to Jerome. Wood River to Kimberly and Twin Falls travels to Preston.
For the girls, Mackay will board the bus to Carey. Valley goes to Wendell.
