Boise State women's basketball used a dominant second quarter on its way to defeat Utah State, 76-41, Saturday, at ExtraMile Arena.  The Broncos will wrap up their two-game homestand on Wednesday, as they are set to face off with No. 23 UNLV.


Boise State's defense held San Diego State to zero field goals for nearly six minutes to hang onto a 67-66 win over the ranked-Aztecs, Saturday at ExtraMile Arena.  The win is the fifth in the last six meetings against San Diego State, and the third during that stretch to be decided by one point – all three have gone in the favor of the Broncos.  Boise State returns to action tomorrow at Fresno State.


Elsewhere, Weber State defeated the Idaho Vandals 88 to 65.  Eastern Washington downed Idaho State 79 to 67. 


The Idaho State men's basketball team will be back on the road, as they will be gone for the next four games. The Bengals will travel to play Montana State, Weber State, Northern Colorado, and Northern Arizona over that span. ISU's next contest will be tonight at 7 in Bozeman, Montana as the Bengals look to seek revenge on the Montana State Bobcats for the Bobcats' win over the Bengals in Reed Gym just a few weeks ago. Idaho State is currently on a 10-game losing streak to MSU.


The 25th-ranked College of Southern Idaho Men's Basketball Team never trailed in beating Colorado Northwestern 72-58 Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.


To the local high school hardwood, first for the Girls on Friday, Minico took the win over the Twin Falls Bruins 65 to 56.  Murtaugh defeated Shoshone 54 to 26 and filer outlasted Dietrich 54 to 43.  Burley took the win over Canyon Ridge 56 to 32.  Jerome outlasted Wood River 58 to 24 and it was Richfield 46 Hagerman 15.


For the boys on Friday it was Valley 45 Castleford 43.  Lighthouse trompled Raft River 61 to 53.  Oakley for the win over Hansen 72 to 35 and Murtaugh defeated Shoshone 54 to 23. 

Saturday, for the boys, Declo for the win over Gooding 63 to 48.  Kimberly outlasted Mountain Home 73 to 46.  It was Filer 54 over Skyline 34.  Butte County defeated Murtaugh 60 to 46, Wendell outlasted Melba 73 to 52 and Pocatello for the win over Minico 63 to 30. 


For the Girls on Saturday, Declo defeated Raft River 45 to 38.  Glenns Ferry defeated Castleford 61 to 41.


As far as games set for today for the boys, Glenns ferry travels to Castleford, the Sun Valley Community School goes to Dietrich, Gooding goes to Buhl, Hagerman to the Twin Falls Christian academy. 


For the girls Hagerman visits Twin Falls Christian Academy, Oakley goes to Lighthouse Christian, Shoshone to Carey, Nampa to Gooding, Raft River to Hansen, Castleford to Murtaugh, Hagerman to Richfield, Glenns Ferry to Valley.
