Maddux Madsen threw for 147 yards with a touchdown, the Boise State defense allowed only 112 yards and the Broncos defeated Wyoming 32-7 on Saturday. Starting quarterback Taylen Green threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to Eric McAlister and a two-point conversion gave the Broncos an early 8-0 lead. Madsen came on in the second quarter with the Broncos leading 8-7.
Elsewhere in College football from over the weekend, Sacramento state defeated the Idaho State Bengals 51 to 16. Idaho took the win in the much anticipated game against the Montana State Bobcats 24 to 21.
From the first round of state high school football playoffs, first in 4A play, Hillcrest defeated Canyon Ridge 35 to 0. Twin Falls took the win over Lakeland 28 to 12. Bishop Kelly outlasted Burley 48 to 12. Emmett defeated Minico 34 to 33. Next weekend, Hillcrest takes on Skyview, Twin Falls plays Skyline, Bishop Kelly plays Emmett and Pocatello plays Sandpoint.
In 3A games, Kimberly outlasted Gooding 31 to 8. Snake River defeated Wood River 28 to 10. Buhl outlasted McCall Donnelly 20 to 12. In the quarterfinal matchups Kimberly plays Weiser and Teton will play Buhl.
In 2A first round games, Bear Lake shut out Wendell 42 to 0. In the Quarterfinal playoffs, Declo will play Grangeville.
In 1A D1 play, Murtaugh defeated Lighthouse Christian 64 to 26. Valley took the win over Potlach 30 to 16. Next weekend, Oakley will play Notus. Butte County will play Valley and Logos will play Murtaugh.
In 1A D 2 play, Hagerman took the win with a shutout over Mackay 70 to 0 and it was Dietrich for the win over Council 50 to 28. In the quarterfinal matchups next weekend, Mullan will play Hagerman, Kendrick will take on Dietrich and Camas County will play Garden Valley.
