Boise State matched San Diego State for the most selections on the Mountain West 25th Season Football Team the conference announced yesterday. Jay Ajayi, Kellen Moore, Brett Rypien, DeMarcus Lawrence, Darian Thompson, Leighton Vander Esch, Curtis Weaver and Avery Williams were the honorees for the Blue and Orange. The Broncos and Aztecs each had eight selections, four on defense. Colorado State followed with seven while New Mexico and TCU each had five players recognized.
Checking in on some High School Basketball Games from yesterday, first for the boys. Gem State downed the Twin Falls Christian Academy 49 to 46. In the Coach Rod Tueller classic in North Logan Utah, Green Canyon Utah defeated Mountain Home 82 to 29. It was Ridgeline Utah 72 Twin Falls 54. Filer outlasted American Falls 51 to 41. Wendell took the win over Valley 64 to 44.
For the girls, Declo took the win in the Ririe Bulldog Shootout in Ririe by defeating West Jefferson 52 to 39 and it was Ririe 52 over Wendell 8. Elsewhere Filer took the win over Buhl 56 to 42. Twin Falls took the win over Canyon Ridge 65 to 35.
On today’s schedule first for boys varsity basketball at the Rod Tueller Classic Twin Falls meets with Green canyon Utah. Mountain Home tangles with Mountain Crest Utah. Elsewhere Buhl will host Snake River. In the Dietrich holiday Tournament, Dietrich will play North Gem. Declo travels to Gooding. Lighthouse Christian goes to Hagerman. Minico heads to Shelley and Hansen will be in Shoshone. Filer goes to Skyline. Raft River plays Valley. In the Carey Holiday Tournament Wood River meets Carey.
Tomorrow Twin Falls plays Mountain crest Utah, Mountain Home takes on Ridgeline. Canyon ridge will host Preston. Snake River travels to Filer and Liberty charter will host Raft River. Declo travels to West Jefferson. Notus travels to Glenns Ferry. Carey, and Wood River will be part of the Carey Holiday Tournament.
The Girls schedule for this weekend, Wendell playing West Jefferson, Wood River plays Carey, Kimberly travels to Mountain Home. South Freemont visits Filer, Ririe meets up with Declo, Canyon Ridge goes to Emmett. Tomorrow, South Fremont heads to Gooding, Jerome travels to Ridgevue, Grace travels to Oakley, Raft River goes to Liberty Charter. Notus goes to Glenns Ferry, Preston heads to Burley, Hansen to Murtaugh, Minico to Pocatello and Carey and Wood River will participate in the Carey Holiday Tournament. Declo and Wendell will be part of the Ririe Bulldog Shootout.
