The season for CSI men’s basketball is over.  It ended yesterday when the team did not earn an at-large selection to the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship.  CSI missed the tournament for the first time since 2019-20.  It was also the first season for head coach Jeff Reineart.


For the Ladies, The College of Southern Women's Basketball Team beat USU Eastern 56-53 Saturday to win the Region 18 Championship for the fourth straight year.


The Idaho State softball team dropped two games in Boise Friday afternoon. The Day started with a narrow 5-3 loss against St. Thomas and ended with an 8-1 loss to Boise State.

Idaho State softball closed out the City of Trees Classic in Boise, Idaho with a 2-1 win over St. Thomas Saturday afternoon.  The Bengals improve to 16-13 on the year with six more non-conference games to go before the start to Big Sky play.  Idaho State is back in action for a midweek contest with Utah State tomorrow in Logan, Utah. First Pitch is scheduled for 2:00 PM.


Boise State men's basketball is returning to the NCAA Tournament for the third-straight season. The Broncos were selected to play Colorado in the First Four, Wednesday, March 20, in Dayton, Ohio.  The winner will be the No. 10 seed in the South Region and will play No. 7 Florida, Friday, March 22, in Indianapolis.


Boise State women's basketball is one of 48 teams that was selected to participate in the Women's National Invitational Tournament.  The official WNIT bracket, complete with first-round matchups, dates and game times, will be announced today. The first round is scheduled to take place March 20-22.


From the high school baseball games over the weekend, Borah defeated Twin Falls 10 to 3.  Capital took the win over Twin Falls as well 8 to 7 in overtime.  Centennial downed Canyon Ridge 8 to 0  It was Wendell 9 Glenns Ferry 5.  Filer defeated Declo 12 to 10.  South Freemont outlasted Gooding 7 to 0.  Orem Utah took the win over Burley 8 to 0.  Wood River for the win over Caldwell 7 to 5 and Burley for the win in the Dixie Invitational 12 to 10. 

 

On Saturday South Freemont outlasted Filer 21 to 12.  Jerome 17 Gooding 7.  Rocky Mountain for the win over Twin Falls 15 to 5.  Minico 8 over Bishop Kelly 5.  Wood River for the win over Salmon 12 to 3.  Twin Falls for the win over Centennial 6 to 3.  It was Filer 9 over South Freemont 7.  Kimberly for the win over Marsh Valley 6 to 1.  Burley 6 Green Canyon Utah 2.  Bishop Kelly 11 Minico 5.  Wood River for the win over Salmon 16 to 1.

 

In softball games on Friday, Wendell for the win over Glenns Ferry 14 to 4.  Gooding 14 over South Freemont 0.  Wood River 15 for the win over Buhl’s 3.  Filer took the win over Mountain Home 16 to 6. 


On Saturday South Freemont defeated Filer 15 to 6.  Gooding for the win over Canyon Ridge 14 to 5.  Jerome for the win over Century 18 to 6 and it was Wood River 16 Salmon 0.
