Sports 4/2/24

From the baseball diamonds yesterday, Glenn Ferry defeated Vision Charter 14 to 4 in six innings.  In softball, Glenns Ferry outlasted Vision Charter 32 to 0 in Four Innings.

On today’s high school schedule first for baseball, Filer travels to Jerome.  Declo goes to Firth.  Gooding visits Kimberly; Challis-Mackay will travel to Wendell.  Burley goes to Twin Falls and Minico to Canyon Ridge.

For the softball games, Pocatello visits Twin Falls.  Burley and Wood River meet up at the College of Southern Idaho.  Preston visits Canyon Ridge and Minico travels to Jerome.  Declo goes to Filer. 

The College of Southern Idaho Men's and Women's Track Teams competed in the Mike Fanelli Track Classic Friday and Saturday, qualifying 13 for the NJCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  The Golden Eagles have 13 national qualifiers. CSI next competes Friday and Saturday at the University of Utah/Weber State University Spring Open.

Rhett Jones has been named the Declo hornets new head football coach.  Last season he was the offensive line coach.  He replaces Josh Stewart who is now the head coach at Blackfoot High school.  For Jones, this will be the 15th year as a coach.
