Sports 4/22/24


From the local baseball diamonds over the weekend, on Friday, Burley took the first game of a double header with Jerome 4 to 3.  Jerome Turned it around 1 to 0 in game 2.  Lighthouse outlasted Wilder 21 to 1.  Wendell for the win over Declo 10 to 0. 



For softball, Kimberly took both games against Wood River 16 to 0 and 3 to 2.  Marsing for the win over Wendell in game 1 5 to 4.  Then Wendell for the win over Marsing 17 to 0. 



On Saturday from the baseball diamonds, Lighthouse Christian took the win over Idaho City 10 to 4.  Filer downed Snake River 8 to 4.  Then Snake River or the win over Filer 13 to 8.  As far as softball games on Saturday, it was Filer for the win over Snake River 16 to 6 in the first game and 9 to 5 in the second. Twin Falls said no to Blackfoot 10 to 4.  Buhl defeated South Fremont 19 to 17.  Declo and North Fremont tied it up 5 each.  Thunder Ridge over Twin Falls 6 to 5. 



On todays baseball schedule, Gem state travels to Lighthouse Christian.  Wood River to Jerome, Wendell to Malad, Twin Falls to Minico.  For softball, Wood River will visit Jerome, Malad to Declo, Wendell goes to Gooding.



In college softball, Four Broncos drove in two runs and Boise State beat Nevada 8-3 in the rubber matchup of a three-game Mountain West softball series, Sunday. Boise State travels to Idaho State, Wednesday for a 4 p.m. first pitch.



The ninth-ranked College of Southern Idaho Softball Team got some big hits when they needed them to beat Snow 20-9 and 9-1 on Friday and 10-8 and 5-1 on Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference play. CSI, 35-11 overall and 25-5 in conference play, will host Treasure Valley tomorrow for a non-conference doubleheader at 2 p.m. and Colorado Northwestern Friday and Saturday.
