Sports 5/17/24


As the state softball and baseball games move forward, here is the latest scores involving the local teams. 



First for baseball, number 2 ranked Moscow downed number 7 Minico 6 to 0.  Minico will play the loser Pocatello this morning at 10 in the consolation bracket.



4th ranked Bishop Kelly took the win over 5th ranked Twin Falls 3 to 2.  Twin Falls move to the consolation side and will play the loser of Skyview/Bonneville today at 1 p.m.



In 3A baseball, 4th ranked Kimberly outlasted Marsh Valley 4 to 0.  Kimberly takes on the winner of No. 1 Homedale and No. 8 Parma tonight at 6:30.



In 2A baseball, Wendell for the win over Nampa Christian.  Wendell will play the winner of Orofino/Firth in the semifinals this afternoon at 3:30.



In 1A games, Idaho City defeated Lighthouse Christian 17 to 12 bringing Lighthouse’s season to an end.  Meanwhile Glenns Ferry took the win over Vision Charter 7 to 1.  The Pilots advance to play Idaho City in the consolation final today.



In softball games, 4th ranked Twin Falls took the win over Blackfoot 12 to 11.  The Bruins move on to the semi-finals and will play Bishop Kelly this afternoon at 12:15 p.m.  Pocatello took the win over Wood River in 5 inning 16 to 0.  The Wolverines will play the Skyview this morning at 10 a.m.



Kimberly downed Timberlake 8 to 0 moving the bulldogs to play Marsh Valley this afternoon at 12:15. 



Declo ranked 4th, defeated New Plymouth in Five innings 14 to 3.  Declo will play Malad today at 12:15. 

 

 

The College of Southern Idaho Men's and Women's Track Teams opened action Thursday at the NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, running in the 10,000 Meters and one relay.  Golden Eagle Abigail Case led the way in the 10k, taking seventh and earned All-American status.   For the men, Jackson Pratt was CSI's lone runner, finishing the 10K for 17th place.  Both teams will be back in action today.



The City of Twin Falls and First Federal Bank jointly announced two large projects at First Federal Bank Park located at Sunway Soccer Complex at North College Road and Sunway Drive. Beginning monday, work will begin to replace the current playground surface and reconstruct the Park’s splash pad. The schedule plans for installation of the new playground surface to be completed by June 1 and the new splash pad completed by June 15.
