Brian Kohberger, the man accused of killing four University of Idaho students, has requested the trial be moved to Ada county for his upcoming trial.  Kohberger is accused of taking the lives of four U of I students.  Kohberger's attorney listed a small jury pool, a biased pool and heavy local media coverage as some of the reasons for the change.  The trial is set for June of 2025.



32 year old Raul Cuevas of Nampa who was convicted of second-degree murder in May was sentenced to prison.  He was sentenced to serve up to 10 years. Cuevas was convicted on May 14 of killing 39-year-old Jesus Urrutia, who was his mother's alleged killer.  He is eligible for parole after serving 4 years.



The Nez Perce Tribe is receiving a $37 million grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to cut climate pollution, improve air quality and advance environmental justice efforts.   The grant will fund residential energy efficiency on the Nez Perce Tribe’s facilities in Idaho and Oregon.



For the first time in almost two decades, Idaho switched insurance companies for its government employee health insurance plan.  Idaho contract officials used a new contracting process that let’s bidding companies and the state negotiate after bids are submitted.  Blue Cross sued.  Now attorneys for Idaho say that should be dismissed.



Some business owners around the construction of the south Jerome Interchange and Bob Barton road are asking why the road isn’t open.  Originally it was to be a 3 month closure.  Now in the 5th month, the ITD said they understand the frustrations and hope to restore access on Bob Barton road in the coming weeks.



The Bench Lake Fire near Red Fish Lake continues to roar and has covered 2,595 acres while being 23% contained.  Today a strong cold front is expected, with winds potentially reaching over 30 miles an hour, which the forest service says will “test constructed fire lines.”
