As wildfires continue to burn this morning, here is a quick rundown of the latest news.  The human caused Bench Lake Fire near Red fish lake is 85 percent contained.  The Wapiti fire in the Boise national forest has burned 100 acres near Grandjean.  The Boulder fire 9 miles southwest of Cascade has burned 324 acres and is 0 percent contained.  The Wolf Creek fire in the Payette National forest is also 0 percent contained and has scorched 909 acres.  The Gwen fire, started by lightening in Latah County has burned 29-thousand acres and is 0 percent contained.



The Occupational Safety and Health Administration said the contractor responsible for a hangar project at the Boise Airport that collapsed in January ignored safety protocols and overlooked visible warning signs during construction.  The collapse killed three people and injured eight others.  Big D builders face a proposed a penalty of $198,586. The agency also proposed a fine of $10,163 for Inland Crane of Boise.



Pilots in and near McCall are being asked to avoid flying as fire activity is significantly increasing and more support aircraft are in the skies. A temporary air traffic control tower has been set up.



It’s fair week in Rupert and the Minidoka county fair.  Tonight and tomorrow a junior rodeo is set for 7 pm with the open rodeo beginning at 7:30 Friday and Saturday.

An actor known for his role as a power ranger has a warrant out for his arrest.  35 year old Hector David Rivera is facing misdemeanor battery charges after he allegedly pushed a man with a walker to the ground in a Nampa parking lot.  His stage name is Hector David Jr and was set to appear at this week’s Magic Valley Comic Con at the Magic Valley Mall.



A Boise Police Officer has been cleared of any wrongdoing in the shooting death of a suspect near the Texas Roadhouse on Fairview Ave. in January 2023.   The suspect was a man named Eli Nash. Nash was on probation after being convicted of two felony counts of sexual exploitation of a child. After parole officers confiscated two electronic devices, Nash fled.  He was spotted in a car and began shooting.   Authorities returned fire killing the suspect.
